Another parable and another challenge to Jesus’ contemporaries. Of course, we might be challenged as well when Jesus’ teaching offends our ideas of how the kingdom of heaven should be, but the “sons of the kingdom” are those who struggle to see how mercy and justice, grace and judgment, come together in Christ.
