Our Lenten Wednesdays begin at 5:45 PM with a potluck in the Parish Hall, followed at 6:30 PM by Lenten Devotions for adults and children alike. Childcare is provided for children five and younger in the nursery.

For the potluck, parishioners are asked to bring meatless main dishes, salads, vegetables, or fruit. (No desserts, please!)


Devotions for Adults

We have a wonderful lineup of speakers this year, each one addressing a spiritual discipline particularly important for the Christian life. The schedule is as follows:

February 24 Fr. Greg Methvin, Vice-Rector of Incarnation, Dallas, on Scripture

March 3 Bp. Keith Ackerman, Retired Bishop of Quincy, on Fasting

March 10 Fr. Garrin Dickinson, Rector of Holy Nativity, Plano, on Communion

March 17 Deacon Phil Snyder, St. James’, Dallas, on Almsgiving and Mercy

March 24 Bp. Jack Iker, Bishop of Fort Worth, on Confession

 

Kids in the 'Croft

During the worship and meditation for adults, children from kindergarten through fifth grade will have an opportunity to learn more about the Passover Seder that St. John’s will offer on March 26. They meet in the Green Room, located in the Undercroft (the basement of the church).
